Tie dye t-shirts and tears
Goodbye California.
I am now sitting at the LAX airport, having withstood the gruelling lines, a pat down and misplacing my ticket.
But alas. My big adventure begins.
Today, I woke, packed the last of my things and spent the morning with my Grandma. She was admiring my new tie dyed t-shirts, and out of the blue declared that she wanted one. Well, what can you say to a 88 year old? So, after dressing her in a matching tie dye (she picked the best one to keep) we shared hugs and kisses before I had to leave.
I cried. Waving to her standing in the drive, frame and all, blowing kisses at me in the Californian sun.
So as Jamie and I drove down to LA I reflected on my time in North America. I could only smile. Thank you to everyone who has made this last 7 weeks so memorable. I have no doubt in my mind that the time spent harvesting tomatoes, or baking zucchini bread has helped settle me for the next part of my adventure.
So, as I wait for my flight to Guatemala I try and run through the little spanish I remember and can't help but smile.
Here goes.
Final hugs from California.
Hello, Central America.
